This email series will teach you to swim, and all you have to do is read.

Most swim lessons, or any sort of instruction in general, is a combination of information dump and practice. While practice may be the thing that gets you going forward making progression, you cannot do that until you learn WHAT to practice. I’ve distilled my ways of explaining these vast various skills you need to swim, and put them all into these blog newsletters. At the same time it helps me define where I need to explain more deeply in my upcoming book as well. Not only do you essentially get the highlights from the book for free, but you also help guide where it needs to go with comments and feedback. Any questions you send me leads to changes in the book or future posts.

Why + Philosophy:

Any sort of ideology or philosophy can only truly be learned over the course of time, and understanding the why behind our actions. However it is my hope that by picking up the pieces each week, that the puzzle will become more clear.

That way you can get in the pool, and practice the pure and how. Getting the progression from deliberate practice each time, and that being because you understand why we are doing things in the specific ways explained here.

How + Physics:

You can’t learn any sort of mechanical skill without learning the physical movements behind it. The trick with swimming is that the water has a mind of it’s own, and that directly impacts you in the water. Literally. If there are a lot of people around you for example it could cause you to have a harder time learning.

While you may not be able to learn the movements directly from me like a normal swim lesson. I can try to explain the way of swimming as detailed as possible in written form. Eventually I’ll add videos too, and create a course so you can actually see the swimming in that form too.

What + Psychology:

As like the philosophy, the psychology takes time to learn, and by taking bits and pieces over time; Then you can facilitate your learning, and get your mind in the right place. Most of the issues I see when swimming come from the micro-panic of wanting to breathe. When if you were to just stay calm, and realize that in the next moment you’ll be able to you’ll stay more relaxed.

It is putting off delayed gratification, and allowing yourself to feel the minimal suffering of being uncomfortable. A great lesson for life in general, but absolutely necessary when swimming.

This email series is here to help you learn!

I seriously just wanted to teach more people. I am only one person, and there is only so much time in a day. Even though I’ve probably taught nearly 1000 people in some shape or form at this point, there is a hard limit on how many people I teach in person.

To scale this up I needed to create content, and as a writer for even longer than I’ve taught. I thought this would be the best way for me to get started. I also create blogs, videos, and podcasts on my main hub https://polyinnovator.space, which you should also check out.

I will be taking that experience over there however, and eventually creating more content in the swimming academy as well.

Disclaimer:

This is advice for people to level up their swimming, or perhaps get started in the first place. While you swim you should make sure you are doing so in a public facility with a lifeguard on duty for safety.
