Ever since I started making content, I have also been a prolific gamer. Growing up I was lucky enough to start playing on PC at a young age, and had my time across the various consoles as well.

Usually sticking to Xbox, but having a love for PlayStation and Nintendo too!

It was only a matter of time before I started making content around gaming as well, and while I fought the idea of making a new channel or brand about it. I figured it was best to let it flourish. Sadly I've been rather in active with the brand for quite some time.

This post is geared towards letting you know my plans for the channel, blog, Phasevos, and more. It's also an extension of a previous social blog I created a while back around this too!

Why is this brand important to me?

Firstly, this is one of the biggest hobbies of my life. I have been playing games since I was in the single digits, and they have always been my greatest decompression. Even more than exercise or singing. I play games to relax, but also to stimulate my mind.

Which is all the more reason I'm a bit upset of how little effort went into this channel, as compared to my other two channels.

There was a time where I'd play Tetris simply to get myself into a focused state, I'd play Mass Effect to think about social dynamics and how to maximize a conversation, and even more scenarios than that. I've been playing Octopath recently, and that one could even compare the complexity of the battles to that of Chess. Having to think multiple turns ahead of time.

I want to create content around that concept, and be able to share my strategies when gaming. There are so many benefits to gaming, and when you game right too it can help with so many other aspects to your life.

Gaming is a factor that many people don't consider in their lives, and I think that even older generations disregard it too much. Especially since it can help stave off dementia and Alzheimer's.

Becoming a Streamer

While gaming is a thing I do to relax me, there is a part of me that thinks it can be more. That part of me of course is the content creation side of my life. As MANY MANY people make a living off of streaming themselves playing games. Real quick for those who may not understand that well.

I talk about this a lot on the PolyTools Channel, but there is a content type trifecta: Long content, short content, and LIVE content. I started out with long form, then journeyed (early on) into short form, and now I need to get better with LIVE. Which I'm a bit hesitant on for a few reasons.

Think of it like someone reacting to a movie or book, you may really care about their opinion on something, and in the process of them playing the game you see their reactions. Plus the community that is built around that streamer becomes more tight nit, and people start to recognize each other's usernames.

Becoming a group of friends.

Additionally, it is a way for people to experience games outside of their comfort zone. Maybe they don't have the technical skill to play a shooter, the creativity for a puzzle game, or even just want to see someone build something in Minecraft.

It is about the experience given to the viewer through the capability of the streamer. No different than watching a basketball player hitting a three pointer.

The Polymathic Gamer

Now what does this have to do with me? Well I have streamed a few times, and given my polymathic lifestyle it actually plays well into gaming. I for one not only play multiple genres of games, multiple console companies, and have all of the equipment for it. I even excel at finding obscure interesting gameplay styles, or have a ton of ideas for how to play certain games to make myself stand out of the large crowd of streamers.

It is also a part of my life I do a lot, and even if I don't stream all of my gaming. Even just half of it would add a lot to my content ecosystem. From the beginning of my personal brand I have planned for a future phase in gaming centric content. Even posted a few shorts/tiktoks of interesting gameplay clips I have done.

While at the moment I am focused on the Modular Degree, Swimming, and now sowing the seeds for Content Repurposing; I will after those work on gaming. Once I built up a following in that realm, then I will also be able to perhaps start my own game development company to work on the ideas
I have had for quite some time.

This quote from the original post still reigns true, as I haven't fully completed previous phases of my PolyInnovator life. I wanted to finish my swimming book years ago, and the PolyTools website needs more attention this year as well.

However it is my hope that I can batch out enough content, and put a capstone on some of my phases too this early part of the year.

That later into 2025 I'll be able to focus more on my gaming content. Considering that this arm is also most likely to grow the fastest anyways too!

This used to be one of my "social articles", an experiment to create medium sized blog posts, akin to newsletters. Across a variety of social blogging networking platforms. Such as Medium, Vocal Media, and Linkedin. Since it didn't quite land; I decided to take these posts and remake them into more full length creations. I'll try to include any interesting links from the original, and sometime the full previous version as well if it makes sense.
