I've scoured the internet to help repurpose my content, for literally a DECADE. Trying to find any tool that would take some of my content and transform it. Eventually I found Repurpose.io, and other tools like Crossclip, but besides for some very specific circumstances it wasn't worth the costs.
Ever since Opus came out I have been a user, as I joined basically a month after they launched a couple years ago. Over these two years I have ran hundreds and hundreds of videos, and out came roughly three to four THOUSAND usable clips.
That being key because of all of those copycat tools out there, or even non-repurposing focused tools copying the feature into their system (i.e. Riverside). They all failed for me time and time again to even hold a candle to the Opus quantity and quality.
I almost never get usable clips with Riverside, and tools like Klap or Minvo seem to only give about a 70-80% usability rate. Whereas in my opinion I get about an 85% usability rate in OpusClip. Not only that you often get a dozen or two dozen MORE clips in Opus as well. While I know the other tools are getting better, there is just such a wide gap between Opus and the next best thing.
Two years of being the Top Dog
OpusClip is approaching their two anniversary, which was part of why I was motivated to make this post. Ever since they came out they have had the best teams. People in the product, marketing, sales, operations, and even programming fields. All of them joined in their A-game, and have brought innovative ideas to the table. Not only that but the Opus founders listened and implemented... FAST.
I think some people over the years I've interacted with, they tried out Opus once or twice during some growing phases (which considering how big OpusClip is now they always are growing). However they caught Opus during an update, and had a not so great experience. I mean I have too to be blunt.
This is why I am sharing this because yes I too have had issues. Especially with the Reframe not wanting to work with my interviews from time to time. To the point where I had to go in and adjust every clip that I wanted. Here's the thing though, that still was only like 15% of the time spent than I would have spent doing it all manually in Davinci Resolve.
I joined up with them two years ago as their biggest power user at the time. As I had nearly 200 interviews back then that needed repurposing (now over 200). They were the FIRST tool that could do the stacked view like this:

I cannot explain to you just how revolutionary it was to have a tool that could do this automatically. I think a lot of you take for granted just how common and easy it is now. Even Premiere and Resolve I think made it easier since then.
However at the time I would have had to use something like Chopcast/Recast to find a dozen clips (not even that many clips), and then toss it into a tool like Crossclip (a gaming centered tool) in order to reframe it the way I needed to. Maybe I should have to be honest, as I probably would have grown a lot faster being one of the early podcasters to do it.
However I am just one man, a one man content production team, and solopreneur. I don't have the time to be editing every interview a second time just to find the clips. OpusClip made it 50 times faster to accomplish what I needed to get, and now every single interview (even a lot of my solo stuff too) I throw into Opus just to see what I get. Every interview I can now sweeten the deal with the guest (sometimes they're hard to get on the show), by offering them access to all of the clips I will be using. So that they can use them on their own profiles as well.
Using clips generated from Opus also is great for having Collaborator posts on Instagram, which has significantly grown my following.
In one year alone I got over 365,000 views across tiktok, pinterest, and instagram. YouTube wasn't counted in those metrics, but I also got on that platform individually over 100,000 views at least across 2-3 of my youtube channels EACH. One of the channels being a gaming channel, which I made clips using Crossclip usually. However now that Opus has been supporting Gaming more and more, I've not touched Crossclip in ages.
That first Summer I was their biggest power user, then I got quickly outshined by some amazing creators. I've only been in awe of what other people have been able to do! From the likes of Nick Nimmin, Roberto Blake, Doc Williams, and more. They have used the tool to chop up their livestreams to gain an even greater audience. Now I am brand partner with them, and they're an integral part of my creative process.
I encourage you to check out OpusClip now, or again if you did before, as they're constantly improving. They have a lot of great features, some still yet to come. They're currently celebrating the 2 year anniversary, and are hosting a competition that you should definitely look into!
