"We create an intricate link between occupation and identity."

This being one of the first lines of the video, the speaker Nkateko Masinga talks about being asked the question what do you want to do?

She talks on the idea of "making time for your passions", which is something that seems obvious right? However on the day to day of life, we often put off things that aren't SEEMING important at the time. Only to regret not doing them later.

While yes there is a bit of "opportunity cost" by doing many different things, if you manage your time well you'll find the hours to do them.

You Don't Need PERMISSION

We constantly think that the people around us know what is best, that what worked for them will work for us. We don't personally realize that they're all just humans like us, trying to do the best they an, and that isn't even getting into "NPC theory".

It doesn't matter what your friends say, what your work/boss says, what Society says, or even what your parents say!

You are you, and only YOU can decide what your life entails. There will be external factors like money or connections, but you can choose the life you want to lead.

This post is about Mindset

Striving to be better, pursuing many different things, these are all topics that should be ingrained into you. You should be unapologetic to the cause, and let yourself pursue what you desire to pursue.

To some people this will seem very obvious, and I say to those: I'm glad you are well on your way to polymathy. However to others, this is what they need to hear. For too long they let the opinions of others drive their decisions.

Your mindset should be that of your own accord, and you should make the decisions based on your own morals and values. Your virtue is based on your actions.
