Honorable Mention: Keyframes Studio

#5 - CrossClip
While not a find a clip tool, it does help you reframe your already found clips from Xbox/GameCapture.
This is what I used for a very long time before my tool of choice added gaming. Even to this day sometimes I still use it because my templates are there.
#4 - Riverside's Magic Clips
Honestly they're not great... the lengths are always all over the place, and the quality of the clips are sub par compared to the #1 on this list. However if you already have Riverside for podcast recording, and you just want it all in one. Then I could see this being a solution for you.
#3 - VideoTap
I haven't used this one, so I can't say for sure how good it is for clipping. However it is one of the more wide ranging repurposing tools. It also had a couple Appsumo campaigns, so you may have gotten it for a good deal.
Considering it does even more than clipping, I figured it deserved a spot on the list.
#2 - Descript Clips
This editing software has been around one of the longest, and they added clips to their roster too. Even some unique compilation type clips too if I'm not mistaken.
Also like Riverside they have recording tools built into it too, so you can have it all in one place. In my opinion they tend to be more stable, and do a better job though than RS.
They have been working on over the last year more clip related features too.
#1 - OpusClip
Literally nothing on the market comes close, let alone hold a candle to Opus. They weren't the first Content Repurposing tool, but they were the first in this "Clips Tools" category, as I didn't feel the tools before them fit into this quicker format clipping.
Opus paved the way for all of the copycats, and they are the fastest growing tool on the market with (at the time of this writing) over 10 million users.
While full disclosure I am a partner with them as a creator, they have no input on this post. It is fully my opinion where on this list each tool falls, and I think in practice that Opus is the top tool for clipping nearly any video.

When I found them, it made all of my efforts worth it, as I was finally able to repurpose my years worth of content. It makes its way into my video routine every time now.
