Become A Renaissance Man With 3 Hours a Day
Something I've talked about on the 🎙️ PolyCast is that at times (often in the scale of weeks) I feel that I am either CREATING or CONSUMING.
Every week, day, month, it doesn't matter the scale, you will be doing both. However knowing your cycles, and pushing past your lazy days when you don't feel like doing things. That is how you increase your progression towards polymathy or renaissance man.
Becoming a well-rounded individual takes effort, and in order to juggle many different things. Then you need effort in many different areas.
Odysseas's Ideal Day Plan
- 1 Hour of Training
- 1 Hour of Consuming
- 1 Hour of Creating
By using exercise to clear your head, and to master the body. Consuming information and knowledge to strengthen the brain/mind. Then creating something real, and taking action outwards.
The feedback from doing these things. The muscles you gain, the memory boost, and information recollection even. Then the feedback from your creative output, they all help you shine as a person.
PolyInnovator's Ideal Day Plan
I take my DAY plan by looking at the WEEK. For example my workout regimen has 5-6 days of exercise. Although it is wise to add in another day of rest. Meaning the ratio of how it fits in the week can sometimes skew.
Some workouts might only take 30 min, but others 90 min. Again changing how the effort of that day will go.
When it comes to consuming content/media/learning, then I follow my interests. Maybe I'd do better at setting out some time for my 🎓 Modular Degree, but I tend to consume when I'm interested. Oftentimes if I go down a deep rabbit hole, then it will turn into a PolyPRO post too.
That in and out cycle of learning and creating happens on a smaller scale as well. I started making posts like these in this newsletter. Where I'm consuming an interesting polymathy related video, and then creating a post from it. Expressing my opinion on the subject matter, while also showcasing another creator. I make these in batches or one by one. It doesn't matter as long as they get done over time, over the course of the week.
How to create your own
Well you should take into account the Input and Output dynamics. Figure out how you personally like to learn, and make time for that methodology.
Shout out to Dan Koe's https://www.kortex.co/ which is a 🧠Knowledge Management tool made for creators. I personally use https://obsidian.md/ for the same effect. Using tools like these to organize your life, keep track of your learning, and accelerate your creative.
Really great video by the creator, and I'll leave you with one of his quotes:
Three hours of focused time will change you forever. Each hour goes to improving a different part of yourself.
