The Future of Philosophy and Technology

Technology

The future of technology is one that is going to completely turn everything we know upside down.

With the rise of new cloud based tech, and the internet of things; The entire world is becoming more and more connected. We really need to get the less rich countries around the world on the game as well. Not to mention the more rural areas of the rich countries. There are still some very primitive minds in these areas, simply because they lack access to the wealth of knowledge found online. I would go as far to say that the natives of poor countries may be more mentally disciplined simply due to the rough lifestyle.

If we were to elevate these quote on quote “lesser” countries they would become brilliant allies, and create unique technology of their own. This would advance the world in a technological and economical manner greatly!

Philosophy

The ideology of any person, or country, is going to lead the world’s dynamic with the ever connected world we are all establishing right now.

With the highly diverse level of religion, philosophies, and lifestyles all over. This is becoming more and more an issue preventing the unification of the planet. We cannot even get over our differences in politics let alone religion to work together. Religion isn’t holding people back, but their mindsets on it IS. Having a belief system is good for spiritual health most of the time, but when it starts to impact society and interpersonal relations it needs to be reevaluated.

Saying this will probably make some people angry, well that just proves the point even more so!

Philosophy is the love of wisdom inherently, it is needed in order for the world to survive, let alone thrive.

Unification

Both the unification of technology and ideology, as well as the unification of the world’s population.

This simple idea of coming together has been the debate of countless people, but very few have even taken the moment to think about how the world would be if we were united. Always stopping at the point of talking about it, never discussing the future as if we were already united. This would lead to some extraordinary and innovative ideas.

Please if you take anything from this it should be this: Think about how the world would be if we were already united. Then you can understand the significance of this, and would be astonished as to why it hasn’t happened yet.

The PolyInnovator Ideal

This post is meant to be food for thought first and foremost, but I do not want to leave you with a cliff hanger.

Being a Polymath of Innovation, means that we create the technology in the first place. If we create with philosophy in mind as well, there can be a unique synergy at play

The point is that we need to unify while our technology is strong, and the level of potential cooperation is high. Doing so would allow the entire world to be strengthened. Doesn’t mean everyone has to be getting along fully, especially right away, but former enemies could become influential allies for the years to come. Think about the potential of disaster, and the lack of preparedness we all face. If an alien race were to come down right now, there a large need for concern for our unity.

Point being we need a way to unify the world, so that we can be prepared when something strikes. Virus, nuclear, super-volcano, meteor, or aliens. Whatever it may be, we need to be ready. I propose a company driven for innovation, and the success of humanity. The United Living Construct is my proposal, as it was made to be a source of inspiration for the world. Inducing self-development, and conducing world unification. With the rise of technology, it will give us a way to do everything smoothly. Simply the cooperation of the world is next.

The U.L.C. is the next step in the future for the PolyInnovator Community.

Here is hope for a new world, and one that works together for the future of humanity!

Modular Education for All

This is a platform where students can curate
their own degree via MOOC’s, and other resources, as well as provide my own courses. This was the inspiration for PolyInnovator Academy, and the process of pursuing your own Modular Self-Education. Perhaps creating a way to get that Self-Edu accreditation, instead of just how to build them.

I know there has been some websites sort of doing it. People have been talking about MOOC degrees for a hot minute now, but there lacks accountability. Most of the websites that talk about it, simply make a list of courses in a blog post and call it a day.

I do know that sites like www.classcentral.com actively tries to do more than that. At the very least explains what options are available for potential/current students. For those who do not know Class Central is a search engine, discovery platform, and review site for MOOC’s.

Community Aspect of Learning

The CEO of Class Central, Dhawal Shah, said on elearninginside:

” But one thing that has sort of been lost is the community aspect of it…..
You can’t just put a course online and expect that people will learn from it.
But if you build that ecosystem around it…”

https://news.elearninginside.com/moocs-learners-perspective-conversation-dhawal-shah-founder-class-central-com

I quite resonate with that, for out of all the courses I’ve taken, there hasn’t really been much of a community aspect. Yes there are forums or chat, but none of them quite get that deep level of interactivity.

MOOC-Based Degrees

One of the biggest benefits of MOOC’s is the fact that often a lot of them are self-paced. This can be good or bad depending on how disciplined you. Conversely some Mooc-based degrees focus on a time table system. Even if you are disciplined they often can be quite rigorous despite being online.

This intensity of participation can often come as a surprise to many.

In 2018 there was a lot of new degrees introduced on learning platforms like edX, and I believe there will be more coming this year as well. Already University of Queensland is working on a masters to connect with their Corporate Innovation MicroMasters.

These degrees are quite intriguing partially because of their microcredential counterparts. Such as MicroMaster, or MasterTrack, for EdX and Coursera respectively. They lead into certain degrees, often by the same university, although some can even lead into different schools on edX’s side.

This can open the opportunity to many who may not normally be able to go to school.

Here at PolyInnovator Academy the idea of making a Mooc-based degree is quite accepted, but some places people are still trying to wrap their heads around the idea.

Understanding the Current Education System

The current system works by maximizing accreditation opportunities in order to get more benefits from the government. This isn’t a bad thing in concept, but combined that with raising tuition rates and it paints a different picture.

The challenges many schools face is not providing the best education, or getting enough funding. It is getting enough people graduated, so they can make more money.

This profit-centric system has lead to inflated education costs, and less inclination to make the students do better.

There has to be a system to complete the schooling you sign up for, and this goes for the Modular degree as well. There needs to be, and PolyInnovator is working on it too, to hold students accountable. Loss of money shouldn’t be the only motivation. Not only should there be a positive connotation, but if there has to be a negative it should be much more strict.

Such as if you fail a course it could have repercussions on your degree, or something along those lines. Conversely if you excel at your work, besides having honors, maybe there could be a change in a positive light to your degree.

One way we could go about this is standardizing the system in a new decentralized way. There is too much bureaucracy involving in accreditation. If there was a way to create a measurable impact of any degree or course, then we could use that to quantify a student’s learning.

Universal Learning Unit

“Imagine a system in which we allocate one Universal Study Point (USP) per 25 study hours. “

https://www.classcentral.com/report/universal-lifelong-learning-credit-system/

A brilliant idea to create a points system, as an alternative to college credits.

This Universal Point could revolutionize education because it wouldn’t just be the first world countries benefiting. Even third world schools and universities could create their curriculum to a higher standard. This new standard could give people in lower thresholds of success a new path to higher education.

Giving “Quality Education” (From the UN’s SDGs) to a wider range of people.

Coming All Together

All in all I would say the future is looking bright, and maybe some would disagree. However we haven’t had a real revolution in education since the time of Henry Ford. The Internet is giving way for new ways of doing things.

One of which is the Modular Degree, and I hope that in the near future it could consolidate all of those topics talked about today.

Creating a new system of which could be spread across the world.

5 Things You Didn’t Know About PolyInnovator

PolyInnovator is a personal brand for myself, that I built to be a catalyst of content development towards innovation. I wanted to make an impact on how things operate, as I kept seeing too many global problems.

I want to give the people the opportunity to #MAKEACHANGE!

Here are five things you probably did not know about PolyInnovator:

  1. This may sound like a broken record, however this site is meant to bring people together. Just not always in the way you may expect, for there are courses meant to guide you into a new stage in your life.
  2. PolyCasts are simply dynamic podcasts, however due to podcasts being coined after the “ipod” I felt that it was necessary to differentiate.
  3. The community aspect behind the website originated from my other brand I created called the United Living Construct. The U.L.C. was meant to be a hub of innovation, where innovative minds could come together. This is an evolution of that ideal.
  4. PolyInnovator stands for Polymath of Innovation. Based around the idea of being a modern polymath, and since innovation is the key to being somewhat of a jack of all trades it just fits!
  5. Despite being a personal brand for me, it is so much more than that. Well beyond just one man, and given enough time anyone can become a PolyInnovator.

No amount of adversity would change my course. It was sort of funny someone (quite experienced) told me that I should have a personal brand. At the time I was focusing on developing the U.L.C., and so I declined the idea as I thought I would get overwhelmed. I even tried to combine the ideas, but it wouldn’t fit.

Now its the opposite, for I have built my personal brand, and perhaps even farther than the company before it. However when I decided to build a new website for Poly. it came to be a social learning platform. This rapidly happened over the course of a couple weeks, so there was much deep thought involved. More of a spur of the moment grand action. I am really glad I trusted my gut too because now the platform you are reading this on is more than could have hoped to make.

That hub of innovation called the U.L.C. may one day still exist, but for now PolyInnovator absorbed that ideal.

Change is something that must be enacted upon by the thoughtful mind. Without it there would be no personal development, innovation, or world revolutions. There has be the mechanism for establishing a new order, and the concept of change is key to that! -Dustin, M.

Father down the line the website may get some changes of its own. These could include quality of life, more courses, or more content in general.

It is my hope that over time people will come to expect great things from the capabilities of the site. It is meant for #innovators, but that doesn’t mean that even the most ordinary person can’t innovate something in their life.

Who knows perhaps you’re an innovator too, and don’t even know it.

PolyInnovator Joins People Together from All Over

Take a chance, and start your new life today. This being said it isn’t without hard work, and it isn’t some end all be all. The opportunities you face on this new world we call the internet can often overwhelm even the greatest. What I hope to create is a platform of change, built with the purpose of bringing #innovators together to #MAKEACHANGE.

The PolyInnovator Community

This is where the Polyinnovator Social Network comes in.

The community functions of this website act as a gateway to like-minded individuals who are here either for learning, or for innovative ideas. Either way the growth mindset is greatly apparent. This leverages the creativity of innovation, and the inspiration of learning. Combining both creative inspiration for a prosperous community.

I challenge you today to go on the Groups tab, find a circle of people who may resonate with you. Then in that circle leave a message stating why you joined that group, and see what happens!

The Learning Courses

I would honestly say that probably even more important than the social aspects, are the learning portions. The courses on PolyInnovator are based around Self-Education, as well as Innovation skills. Both being separate tools of life, but both highly valuable. Surprisingly pretty much nowhere can you find reliable learning materials on each.

Lets start by explaining the initial round of courses shall we:

Build Your Own Modular Degree Mini Course:

This intro course is meant to be a guide on getting started with your own Self-Education pathway, in other words YOUR OWN Modular Degree. Not unlike the one I talk about on the YouTube channel.

This would include the basics of setting up a project management tool like Google sheets, or in my case Airtable for organizing the degree.

As well as the foundations of how you should set up the outline of the degree, such as the semesters. The keys are repetition, interleaving, and competency.

Innovation Introductory Course:

Given that this is a platform for #Innovators, it only seems fitting that there should education for their minds as well. Perhaps one day this will be the #1 place for innovation ideologies.

The course gives a run down of how innovation occurs in businesses, education, your own life, and in general. Of course there are deeper details to get into when in comes to those subjects, however I think it’s prudent that we take a high-level view of what can be changed.

The main concept is explaining how it occurs, giving some simple mental models to adopt, as well as give a look at what is to come in later courses.

Creating Your Semesters (Modular Degree):

Not only is the Modular Degree something you curate on your own, but it is a lifelong journey. One should never stop learning lest you want your brain to suffer!

The challenge is not trying to cram it all in at once, or delay until the end. You need a solid mix of hard and easy, helpful or just interesting, career oriented or happiness inducing. The latter could be one in the same if done right.

The semesters are a powerful way of visualizing the overarching plan of your education. Especially if you need some concepts to stick strong, then you would need to spread them over multiple terms.

This gives your brain a chance to cement the knowledge, and understanding how to do that efficiently is what we go over in the course.

Changing Your Life

All in all these tools are meant to give you that head start in life, and perhaps an extra edge over your competitors. Even more so maybe it will give you a chance to turn those so called competitors into allies.

The courses here are going to give you the opportunity to say no to college, or skip ahead of the curve; Either way the dynamic of learning should be truly understood. It is my mission to empower that understanding!

-Dustin M. PolyInnovator

Radical Honesty and Intelligence

Honesty is the key to all relationships, no doubt in that. Even though this is common knowledge it is not common practice. We live in a world covered in deceit, lying, and sharp tongues. The Four Pillars Philosophy was created to aim at becoming the pinnacle of humanity, but how do we accomplish this level? We like to think of it as a balance or “mix” of IQ (Intelligence Quotient) AND EQ (Emotional Intelligence). The blend of Compassion/Empathy with Analysis/Cognition.

The ability to know how your own emotions and the emotions of others works, is truly a peculiar thing. The key to remember is honesty is the bridge between IQ and EQ, it is something that both high IQ and high EQ individuals understand. Logic dictates that honesty is the quickest way to achieve communication of information. Emotional resonance is increased with honesty.

We are beings of perfected attributes, although we are not perfect. If we strive to be perfect, then our task would be to change our society to be perfect. We are the people who strive to be the best they can be of themselves, and they end up being the best of what humanity contains as a whole. Perfection is unbalanced, and there would be no life to live.

How can we get past this obstacle of deception by perfection? We do with the concept of radical honesty. Radical honesty is direct communication between one to an any number of people. No underlying intention or even backward plan, we directly say our words. Speaking with pure of heart.

We aim to be the best well-balanced person we can be by following the four main pillars of life: Mind, Body, Spirit, and Emotion. It is honestly a brilliant expression of intelligences. The varying types of intelligences will have different effects on the person involved.

Leonardo Da Vinci was a man who understood these concepts well. If he was alive today he would be a prime example of what an ULCian could become. He used his five senses to extend his pillars of life. He was in tune with his senses, and in turn was honest in his life. He acted rash at times, and let his emotions to get the best of him, but was aware of this in the moment it happened. Not just after the fact. Over his years he became a far greater man than all of his peers. He controlled his emotions, he kept his physique in shape even into his 70’s, he was spiritual about life itself and the many wonders of nature. His curiosity shaped his beliefs and his mind itself. There is no doubt he is one of the brightest humans to have ever lived.

“The five senses are the ministers of the soul.” -Leonardo

We can use this man as the epitome of the potential we all possess. Use him as a guideline to life, a path to shape our own personal pillars. No matter how united we become, we are all alone in our own paths of life. We can only hope to aid one another as best as we can.

I urge you to up your honesty, and take control of your senses. When you find yourself in a situation that is one step closer to personal unification of the pillars of life, then take your world of life itself!

We can analyze people rather than facts or equations, compared to our IQ counterparts. In my experience this is a remarkable feat, being able to connect to a person on an intimate level, even if they’re a stranger, is like trying your favorite treat for the first time. The thrill of meeting a new person can be exhilarating.

Though making discoveries and learning facts can only take you so far if you do not have anyone to share them with. The amount of pure social community that extroverted people have is quite amazing, and the ability to start-up a conversation with anybody is extremely necessary for accomplishing goals.

One major difference between IQ and EQ is how you see the world. Now being a person with a rather high IQ and a high EQ, I feel prepared to be a spokesperson on the matter. People with high IQ will see the world in a matter of facts, numbers, and the base nature of science. That base nature can be physics, mathematics, or even visualizing equations and mathematical angles with no technological aid.

People with high IQ’s like to challenge their minds with stuff like this, and at times they will come up with something extraordinary (Take Newton or Vincent Van Gogh for example). Alas these discoveries or creations amount to nothing if they cannot spread among the rest of humanity. These underrated geniuses went for centuries (sometimes less), without recognition, and perhaps if they had a greater understanding of other people, or EQ, then they would have been more successful in their lifetime. On the alternative side with EQ, people with this intelligence see the world quite differently. We know that science and knowledge is important, but we put it aside for it does not interest us as much as people do.

The one bridge between these two mindsets, that is the point of this article in the first place is honesty. The balance that honesty can create is immense. The Dalai Lama tends to share the idea of “Global Compassion”, which is the fact that all people ARE PEOPLE, we are all conscious human beings that should be treated as such.

Sadly there are not many people who understand this concept, or choose to live by it. In fact this idea is one the biggest factors into the creation of the PolyInnovator Community. The Dalai Lama has a high IQ and EQ, and is able to spread such ideologies because he is direct with his intent. He honest with his mind and heart.

There is a understated idea here, and that is balance. The Philosophy of PolyInnovator is balance, and that is meant to be shown by the article here. A balance between the heart (EQ) and mind (IQ), with the Four Pillars Philosophy as a tool to do it. Being honest is merely the first step towards that goal!
